"Above and Beyond"
So, who likes to take risks or chances to go the extra mile? Well, sometimes we just need to put ourselves out there and take such a risk. Above and Beyond can mean different things to anyone. For me going the extra mile is second nature with my students. Learning new technology and how I can use it has been my goal since I started at Athens. For example, using Weebly for my ePortfilio has been fun to build. This page is for me to show some of the things I have created during my time at Athens. “Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go.” — T.S. Eliot |
As students progress through each of the classes their knowledge and skills grow to a much higher level. They will learn about time management, organization, and much more. The link below has a lot of information about writing a prep list and how much we need/use them.
Learning new technologies that can be used in the classroom for students and the instructor has been fun and interesting. Below is an example of how to use Linoit and Mailchimp.

I was introduced to Prezi and found it to be fun and more engaging than other presentation software. I created the sustainability Prezi for my basic food prep class. The students preferred Prezi over the PowerPoint we were using.

Animoto was another fun program we learned about and created a fun short video for my ice carving class. Since we are showing off the ice carvings I felt like it was only fair to add the fruit carving pictures.

Video Scribe was another tool that I found to be fun and interesting. It allows for better and more engaging presentations.
What did Covid make us do? Or should I say teach us to do, become videographers and editors for any and all lectures or demonstrations posted them online for our students?
