Leader
At times we are educators others we may be a facilitator or better yet we play the role of the leader in our classes. While in the leader role, we strive to connect with our students while reaching out to the community by offering free culinary classes. Along with the exciting world of competitions, we have found a niche for students to explore what is possible outside of the classroom. 2.2 Educators seek out opportunities for leadership to support student empowerment and success and to improve teaching and learning. 2.2.a Shape, advance and accelerate a shared vision for empowered learning with technology by engaging with education stakeholders. 2.2.b Advocate for equitable access to educational technology, digital content, and learning opportunities to meet the diverse needs of all students. 2.2.c Model for colleagues the identification, exploration, evaluation, curation, and adoption of new digital resources and tools for learning. |
JSCC Leadership Academy
Eleven Jefferson State employees were recognized for completing the college’s Leadership Academy class at a ceremony on Friday, April 29, in the Fitzgerald Student Center on the Jefferson Campus.
The Academy graduates presented a proposal for an employee orientation experience before receiving plaques honoring their accomplishment.
“We view this as an aspect of new employee orientation, although it would be helpful to all members of the Jeff State family…students, parents and employees would all benefit from better communication,” read the class’s presentation.
