FAQ
What do you think the future of culinary looks like?
As strong as the job market is right now, people still want to eat out. We are still seeing interest from students from high schools, retired adults, and veterans.
What is your favorite dish to cook?
That depends, if we are talking about pastry then cheesecake, if we are talking about savory then most proteins, and if we are talking about just for fun then cheese.
Did you have a hard time TRANSITIONING into education?
The simple answer is no, because I am a graduate of the program and if you think about it as a Chef when we hired someone new we had to train them for the position.
Do you feel the classes you have taken at athens, have helped you become a better instructor?
That's easy to answer and without a doubt yes. It has helped me learn other ways to deliver content, design engaging presentations, and motivate me to do more.
If you had one thing to do over what that be?
I would have to say continue my education earlier and not wait so long after high school.
What is your goal after completing the Masters degree?
Well that depends on how things play out at JSCC. My first goal is be eligible to apply for a directors position. If not stay where I am and continue to build my classes with what I have learned. I may explore other options within the ACCS system. And last I would love to work at the new culinary program at Auburn.
Do you have any other hobbies?
Yes, I do. One of my favorite things to do would have to be hunting and fishing. I also like to ride my bike with my son even though he outrides me now.
Does your wife have a favorite dish for you to cook?
Again another easy one. She would say that the pan-seared fish with citrus sauce is her favorite. For me, that is her anniversary and birthday dish I cook for her.
